It was another great weekend for DCC softball! Outscoring Lake Region State College 57-18, the Bucs came home 4-0 on the weekend.

Right behind her was freshman, Ashley Hammers from Utah, with a batting average of 0.700. Hitting above 0.600 was Brooke Lijewski and Samantha Maerz. The rest of the lineup hit above 0.500.

In the circle, Riley Price and Faith McDonald threw for a combined 21.3 innings pitched. Price finished with three wins and McDonald had one. Price faced 68 batters, allowed 13 hits, six earned runs, five walks, and 26 strikeouts. McDonald faced 33 batters, allowed 12 hits, five earned runs, no walks, and four strikeouts.

Head coach Casey-May Huff stated, "Despite the cold weekend, the girls came out hot! We talk a lot about one base at a time and doing your job at the plate, it's never about just getting up there to swing. You have to know the situation and execute, regardless if you get on yourself. Our girls have been doing a great job of this. Even when we fall behind, they handle the pressure very well and stay calm. Every girl has shown the ability to handle their role very well at each given moment, which is just making us better and better. It's a team first approach at the plate."

The Bucs are hosting the region tournament starting on Thursday, May 2nd. They will play the winner of the Williston versus Lake Region game at 2:00PM MST. Go Bucs!
