DCC Softball Shows Grit Versus MCC

Apr 26, 2024

It was a great day yesterday in Glendive, MT. The Lady Bucs won two really big games to put them ahead of their rival, the MCC Pioneers. Winning the two games gave Dawson the upper hand in hosting the region tournament, finishing conference as the #1 seeded team.

Riley Price and Faith McDonald went the extra mile on the mound. Together, they struck out a total of 20 hitters, only walked four, only allowed six runs, and had a combined ERA of 3.5.

Offensively, the Lady Bucs collected a total of 29 hits, five doubles, four homeruns, and 22 RBIS. This allowed them to outscore their opponent 22-8.

Head coach Casey-May Huff stated, "Yesterday was special! The girls came out knowing that we had two big games to take care of. It was an entire team effort and one that locked us in to host. It is nice to see that the things we have been working to correct are starting to show and finally elevating our game. I am very proud of our group!"

Up next, the Lady Bucs are on the road this weekend as they head to Devils Lake, ND. They will face Lake Region State College on Saturday at 12:00 and 2:00PM MST and on Sunday at 11:00AM and 1:00PM MST.
