DCC Softball Coach Jim LeProwse Coach of the Year

Dawson Community College Head Softball Coach Jim LeProwse was named the 2019 Mon-Dak Coach of the Year. This was Coach LeProwse’s 7th Coach of the Year award in his 9 seasons at Dawson. Coach LeProwse was also named the 2019 Region 13 Coach of the Year. This was his 5th in a row and 6th overall in his 9 seasons at Dawson.

In 9 seasons at Dawson, Coach LeProwse has been honored as Coach of the Year 13 times between the Mon-Dak Conference, NJCAA Region 9, and current NJCAA Region 13. Coach LeProwse stated, “I am honored and humbled by these awards. I could not tell you how thankful I am for my right hand gal and assistant coach Tami Johnson. Without her work ethic and determination, this award and championship does not happen. I am also extremely thankful for my pitching coach Dean Svenvold, who has been coaching with me since I started at Dawson. Our 2019 Buccaneer softball team is definitely one of a kind. They work harder and play harder than anyone around and this is the payoff for them. We have been very fortunate to recruit outstanding student athletes at Dawson through the years. I would like to give a huge shout out to our administration, faculty and staff at Dawson Community College for making this possible. Last but not least, a big thank you to all of our fans and supporters at Dawson Community College.”

Coach LeProwse’s Lady Bucs will be hosting the District Championship Series in Glendive on Wednesday, May 15th with a doubleheader at 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm and then Game 3 if necessary will be on Thursday, May 16th at 12:00 noon.  The winner of the series will automatically qualify for nationals in Clinton, Mississippi.
