Maycen O'Neal Drives In Four To Seal Dawson Community College Softball  Victory Over Adams State University JV 10-1

Maycen O'Neal was clutch at the plate with runners on base on Thursday, driving in four on two hits to lead Dawson Community College Softball.  Lady Bucs past Adams State University- JV 10-1 on Thursday. Maycen O'Neal drove in runs on a double in the first and a home run in the seventh.  Lady Buccaneers secured the victory thanks to six runs in the seventh inning.  Maycen O'Neal, Reannon Justice, and Shelby Martin each had RBIs in the frame.  Dawson got on the board in the first inning when Maycen O'Neal doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.Lady Bucs put up six runs in the seventh inning.  Dawson big bats were led by Maycen O'Neal, Reannon Justice , and Shelby Martin, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.  Shelby Martin was in the pitcher's circle for Dawson.  She surrendered one run on one hit over six innings, striking out six.  Sandoval led things off in the circle for Adams State University- JV.  She lasted seven innings, allowing 13 hits and ten runs while striking out two and walking one.

Dawson tallied one home run on the day.  Maycen O'Neal had a four bagger in the seventh inning.  Dawson Community College collected 13 hits on the day. Shelby Martin, Trinity Anderson , April Davis, Kylee Hergenrider , and Maycen O'Neal each racked up multiple hits for Dawson.  Maycen O'Neal, Kylee Hergenrid er, April Davis, Trinity Anderson, and Shelby Martin all had two hits to lead the Lady Bucs.  Dawson didn't commit a single error in the field.  Maycen O’Neal had the most chances in the field with eight.

Coach LeProwse stated that, "This was a great start to our spring trip. Shelby Martin did a great job in the circle. She kept hitters off balance and runners off of the bases. We hit the ball very well and did a great job of moving runners and getting ourselves in scoring position and letting our power hitters drive in runs. Maycen ONeal had a great game driving in runs."

Softball Clinches Lead In Sixth Inning For Victory Over Adams State University JV 27-21
 
Dawson Community College Softbll took the lead late and defeated Adams State University JV 27-21 on Thursday.  The game was tied at 21 with Dawson batting in the top of the sixth when Hadley Bennett singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.  Lady Buccaneers was boosted by Shelby Martin who went 5-for-7 at the plate.  Shelby Martin homered in the first, doubled in the third, homered in the fifth, singled in the fifth, and doubled in the sixth.
 
Dawson got on the board in the first inning.  Alison Ellertson singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.  Adams State University JV evened things up at 21 in the bottom of the fifth inning.  Munn drove in three when she homered.  Adams State University JV scored seven runs in the third inning.  Wall, Shaffer,  Jimen ez, Munn, Kovetz, and Trujillo powered the big inning with RBIs.  Alexa Kappel got the start for Dawson Community.  She went three innings, allowing 14 runs on ten hits and striking out one.  Salazar toed the rubber for Adams State University JV.  She allowed 20 hits and 20 runs over four innings, walking zero.  Sandoval threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. 
 
Dawson Community College smacked two home run on the day.  Shelby Martin put one out in the first and fifth innings.  Dawson Community College Softball collected 30 hits.  Shelby Martin, Trinity Anderson, Ali Ellertson, Reannon Justice , Hadley Bennett, Kylee Hergenrider , Jordyn O'Neal, Whitney Bean, and April Davis all collected multiple hits for Dawson.  Trinity Anderson and Shelby Martin all had five hits to lead Lady Buccaneers.  Adams State University- JV racked up 14 hits on the day.  Munn, Salazar, Wall, and Jimenez each managed multiple hits for Adams State University- JV.  Munn went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Adams State University- JV in hits.
 
Coach LeProwse had this to say, “Wow did we hit the ball well in this game. 30 base hits in a game is almost unreal.  I was not happy with my team defensively.  We gave up 17 unearned runs in this game.  That is very uncharacteristic of my teams and is something that definitely needs improvement.  We were lucky that our bats were hot because our defense was definitely off in this game.”
