Dakota Bottineau Encounters Double Trouble from Dawson

Game #1-Dakota College at Bottineau Nearly Erases 6-Run Deficit in Loss to Dawson Community College Softball

Dawson Community College Softball got out to a six-run led in the fifth inning and held on for a 6-4 victory over Dakota College at Bottineau on Tuesday. Dakota College at Bottineau scored four runs in the failed comeback on a single by Fredricksen and a home run by Livingstone. Dakota College scored four runs in the sixth inning, but the Lady Bucs still managed to pull out the victory. Fredricksen and Livingstone each drove in runs during the inning.

In the first inning, Dawson got their offense started when Lexi Pettersen's sac fly scored one run. Lady Buccaneers put up three runs in the second inning. Trinity Anderson had an RBI triple in the inning to lead the run scoring. Hailee Gregerson led things off on the rubber for Dawson. She lasted seven innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out eight and walking zero.

Cunningham was on the mound for Dakota College. She went seven innings, allowing six runs on seven hits and striking out four. Dawson had seven hits in the game. Reannon Justice and Hailee Gregerson all collected multiple hits for the Lady Bucs. Gregerson and Justice each collected two hits to lead DCC. Dawson didn't commit a single error in the field. Madissen Hill had the most chances in the field with nine. Dakota College at Bottineau was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Cunningham made the most plays with seven.

Game #2-Dawson Takes the Game Over Dakota College in a Blow-Out Victory, 11-2

Dawson Softball sailed to an easy victory over Dakota College 11-2 on Tuesday. Dawson got things started in the first inning. A sacrifice bunt by Lexi Pettersen scored two runs for the Lady Bucs. Dawson put up three runs in the seventh inning. Kylee Hergenrider, Katelyn Teixeira, and Jayden Draper each drove in runs during the inning. Mckenna Sorenson was on the mound for Dawson. She lasted seven innings, allowing eight hits and two runs while striking out eight. Livingstone got the start for Dakota College. She allowed 15 hits and 11 runs over seven innings, striking out four.

Dawson had 15 hits in the game. Jayden Draper, Trinity Anderson, Katelyn Teixeira, and Reannon Justice all collected multiple hits for Dawson. Draper led the Lady Bucs with four hits in four at bats. Dakota racked up eight hits on the day. Cantu and Marenna each collected multiple hits for Dakota College at Bottineau. Dakota didn't commit a single error in the field. Cantu had the most chances in the field with five.
