Buccaneer Cross Country Qualifies One for Nationals

This week the DCC Cross Country team traveled to Great Falls to compete at the University of Providence Open at Eagle Falls Golf Course. Each member of the team improved their times by minutes and on a tougher course compared to last week. While all the athletes raced well and improved their individual times drastically, Kayla Parisien had the stand out performance by running the qualifying time for Nationals!

Parisien ran a 21:01 and placed 10th. Coach Alex Chase commented about Parisien and the meet, “This is huge. To qualify in your second meet is a big deal! Plus, we still have a month and a half to improve before Nationals! I’m very proud of her and every single member of the team this weekend. They came together, cheered on one another, they ran competitively, and were excited to see such huge improvements! I’m looking forward to their continued progress.”

The Bucs travel to Minneapolis this weekend to race at the Roy Griak Invitational.
