Cross Country Jimmie Invitational

Cross Country Jimmie Invitational

On a cool, overcast day with temperatures hovering in the high 30’s/low 40’s, the Dawson Community College Cross Country team participated in the Jimmie Invitational in Jamestown, North Dakota.  The course was flat and fast with wet grass and muddy spots throughout the course.  Bryce Maxson covered the 8k course in his best time this season of 27:54, Eric Amaya came through in 30:58, James Estey in 31:07, and Kolte Copp in 32:34.  Austin Rysavy took a wrong turn and subsequently was scratched from the results so no team score was able to be calculated, however, he ran tough for the team and still finished.

All Buccaneers ran season best times and are continuing to improve.  DCC Coach Ben Sandy noted, “This was an ideal day for cross country runners on a fast course, and the team took advantage of that.  Everyone ran season best times and Austin was on pace to better his time as well.  A lot of lessons were learned and overall it was another great experience to draw from in future competitions.”

The next competition for the Buccaneers Cross Country team will be at Amend Park in Billings, Montana this Friday, Oct 12th.  The men’s race starts at 10:00 a.m.
