Bucs Reece Green Headed to University of Providence

The Dawson Buccaneers lone sophomore, Reece Green, is joining the University of Providence Argos next season.  Green helped the Bucs Basketball team win 44 games over the past two seasons, starting 28 games in that span.  The 6’5 forward averaged 4.3 points per game and 4.4 rebounds per game in his 55 games, shooting 48% from the field.  His career high was 15 points in the opening game this past season and his career high in rebounds was 13 at Bismarck State in January.  Green was a captain on this year’s team and helped lead the Bucs to a 20-12 record overall and 10-4 record in the conference, finishing just behind the league leaders.  As a freshman, he was a part of a team that went 24-8 overall.

Green will be returning home to Great Falls where he went to high school at Great Falls CMR High School.  He is ready for his next step, “I’m very excited to go play for Coach Keller, and get to play in front of my home town again!”

He will be joining an Argonauts team that went 18-12 in Coach Steve Keller’s first season at the helm.

Dawson Coach Joe Peterson was happy for Green, “I’m grateful for all that Reece has invested in our basketball program, school and this community.  His energy on and off the court is infectious and he will be greatly missed.  He’s come a long way as a player, as a student and as a person.  I’m excited to see him walk across that stage at graduation in a couple of weeks and excited to see what he will accomplish back home in Great Falls.  He’s endured a lot in his young life, but he is learning to battle hard, not give up and keep striving to get better.”
