Bucs to Host Central Wyoming College on Wednesday at 6:00 pm

Riding a two game winning streak, the DCC men return home on Wednesday to host Central Wyoming College.  Game time is set for 6:00 pm at the Toepke Center.  The Rustlers have won 20 games in each of the past two seasons playing a tough schedule in a very challenging region.

This year, CWC is has the same record as Dawson and very similar stats.  They are averaging 92.7 points per game, shooting 43.9% from the field, 36.3% from the 3-point line, 71.6% from the free throw line to go along with 36 rebounds per game and 11.6 assists per game.  Dawson is averaging 86.6 points per game, shooting 42.6% from the field, 31.2% from the 3-point line and 69.1% from the free throw line to go along with 43.9 rebounds per game and 15.6 assists per game.

On paper it looks like a great match-up with Central Wyoming having a slight advantage in scoring and shooting while Dawson has an advantage in rebounding and passing.

Dawson coach Joe Peterson is excited about the contest, “It’s a great opportunity to get another quality opponent on our home court.  We split our two games with them during the 2016-2017 season.  They are a well-coached team that plays hard.  We will need to be on top of our game Wednesday night!”

After losing to Gillette College 105-100, the Bucs have won their past two games which included a 95-80 win over Colorado Northwestern and a 94-72 win against the Rocky Mountain College JV team.

It’s a big week for Dawson with the match-up against Central Wyoming and then a road trip to Sheridan and Powell, Wyoming on Friday and Saturday.
