Dawson Men’s Basketball Signs Texas Standout

Dawson Community College Buccaneers Basketball Coach Joe Peterson announced his first signing for next year.  The Bucs will be returning most of the 12 freshman who helped them win 20 games this past season, but will also add a few more to the core group of returners.  Bruce Green is a 6’1, 170 lb guard from Hardin-Jefferson High School in East Texas.  Green led his team to a 31-10 record and the 2nd round of the Area Playoffs by averaging 18.4 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals per game.  He was selected 1st Team All-District, All-Region and All-State for Class 4A.  He was also voted as a Top 100 player in Texas and won the MVP at the Best of Bay Tournament.

Green explained his choice, “I appreciate Coach Peterson and Coach Bland for recruiting me.  They both made me feel that Dawson is the place I needed to be. I’ve communicated with a couple of their current players and can’t be more excited about being on this journey with them.”

Coach Peterson shared his excitement, “Bruce is hard-working and aggressive.  He will add scoring, versatility and make us better on both ends of the court.”
