Dawson’s Marcus Stephens was selected to the Mon-Dak All-Conference First Team. A freshman from Tacoma, Washington, the 6’2” Stephens averaged 17.6 points, 3.4 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game. His scoring average of 31.8 points per 40 minutes led the conference. He scored over twenty points 10 times this season and led the Bucs in scoring in 21 games. He scored in double figures in every game except one this season and his season high was 27 points to help the Bucs win 82-78 at first place Williston State College on February 14th when he scored the final 7 points of the game to complete the comeback.
Stephens was one of 12 freshman who helped Dawson finish the season 20-12 overall and 10-4 in the conference for a third place finish. The Bucs reached the Regional Semifinals before losing to North Dakota State College of Science.
