Michkaleke Baker Signs Letter of Intent with DCC Basketball

5’11 guard Michkaleke Baker out of Aurora, Colorado is the latest signee for the Dawson Community College Basketball team.  Baker averaged 17 points and 8 rebounds a game this year for Gateway High School.  He was a first team All-Conference selection and an A-Town All-Star the past two seasons for the 5A school which is the largest classification in Colorado.  Baker was excited, “I have been in love with basketball since I was five years old and I have always had the dream of playing my whole life and making it to the league and now I start my journey to my dream at Dawson.”

DCC Coach Joe Peterson was elated, “Baker has had a heck of a high school career, but I think he is only scratching the surface of what he is capable of.  He is young and still growing and is oozing with athleticism and talent.  The first thing I noticed about him though was his feel for the game.  He knows when and where to deliver the ball and has the ability to win games with his head as well as his skills.”

Baker joins 6’9 forward Jaron Masis and 6’2 guard Cam Dunfee in this year’s recruiting class for the Buccaneers.
