Baseball Gets Local Glendive Resident

Dawson Community College Head Baseball Coach Chris Lewis did not have to travel all too far in finding his next player for the 2017-2018 season.  Coach Lewis got a little assistance from his own colleague.  Dawson County High School INF Logan LeProwse, son of DCC Softball Coach Jim LeProwse, made a commitment to play for DCC Baseball.

An excited Coach Lewis said, “We are really excited that Logan chose to stay local and play here at DCC. He was getting some attention from other schools in the region and when he told us he wanted to be a Buccaneer, we were thrilled.  Logan has physically matured greatly this last year and it is exciting to see him stronger and the impact that it has had on his game.  He is really starting to show some ability to drive the baseball on a consistent basis, but the key is that he is smart enough and mature enough to work on driving the baseball to all parts of the field.  Defensively, he has enough arm strength to play either spot on the left side of the infield, but I think he projects the most as a 3rd baseman.  Offensively, he is a guy that has a shot to be in the middle of the order for us and counted on to drive in some runs.”

So far this season for the Glendive Blue Devils, LeProwse is hitting .516 with 12 doubles, 3 triples, 2 homeruns, 15 runs scored and 24 RBI in only 41 at bats. “As a coach when you can add a bat like this to your lineup, you are happy. It’s a good day for Bucs Baseball,” added Coach Lewis.
