Bucs INF Commits to Lakeland University

Dawson sophomore infielder, Trevor Meier, has committed to play at Lakeland University beginning in the fall.  Meier came to Dawson after graduating from Columbus High School and played his legion ball with the Laurel Dodgers.  In his freshman campaign, Meier was 2nd on the team in hits and RBI and ranked 3rd in runs scored while starting in all but one of their 28 games.  In his sophomore season, he raised his batting average by almost 20 points finishing at .299, hit twice as many doubles and raised his slugging % by almost 100 points, finishing at .403.  Meier was also selected as a two time Mon-Dak Conference Scholar Athlete.

Head Coach Chris Lewis stated, “We are extremely proud and happy for Trevor.  He had a great career for us.  He started just about every game in his career, demonstrated a great ability to make adjustments and did a good job in helping those around him.  We knew he was a lock down defender coming in, but his offensive game really improved from his freshman to sophomore season.  This last season he really helped the new guys in learning how to handle failure at the college level.  He may not be flashy, or a showcase style player, but he is a baseball player through and through and he is a true student athlete.  It will be fun to watch him make an impact at Lakeland.”

Lakeland is located in Plymouth, WI and competes in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.
