Dawson CC right hander Andrew Scharsch has committed to pitch for Iowa Wesleyan University for the 2018-2019 academic year. Scharsch came to DCC from Olathe North High School in Olathe, Kansas. He made 3 appearances in his freshman campaign and has already made 3 appearances including 1 start with a 3.12 ERA in 8 1/3 innings of work in the 2018 season.

Pitching coach Eric Kline stated, “I am extremely proud of Andrew and I think he has found an ideal fit to continue his academic and athletic career. He will have an immediate impact on Iowa Wesleyan baseball.”

Scharsch also added, “I was super excited to sign with Iowa Wesleyan University. The coaching staff and the team are what I have been looking for in a school.”

Iowa Wesleyan is located in Mount Pleasant, Iowa and competes in the Saint Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
