DCC 2018-2019 Athletic Department Recap

The Dawson Community College Athletic Department has released its annual recap of the 2018-2019 season.

The report highlights the individual and team honors both athletically and academically for each of the seven athletic programs at DCC; as well as the overall success of the athletic department.  117 student-athletes participated in athletics for the Buccaneers this past year and the department boasted a 3.06 overall GPA with 5 of the teams increasing their GPA from the previous year.  There were 19 NJCAA Academic All-Americans, 34 students on the President’s Honor Roll, 46 students on the Academic All-Conference team and 35 students who graduated from DCC in May.  Athletes logged over 3,000 hours of community service.  There were 2 All-Americans, 1 Conference MVP, 2 Region MVP’s, 10 All-Region players and 14 All-Conference players.  Two of the biggest accomplishments were successfully launching a Cross-Country program and establishing an Athletics Hall of Fame which inducted its first class in February.
