Lexi Begger Awarded Montana Service Award

Alexis Begger has been selected as Dawson Community College's recipient of the Montana Athletes in Service Award through Campus Compact Montana.  Lexi was honored at the Dawson basketball game vs. Central Wyoming College Wednesday night.

Montana Campus Compact is a statewide network of colleges and universities committed to educating students for civic and social responsibility by encouraging community service and volunteerism. Campus Compact is celebrating their 25th Anniversary this year.  Each year, Campus Compact’s Board of Directors recognizes outstanding civically engaged student athletes from colleges and universities across the state for their commitment to community service by proudly presenting the Montana Athletes in Service Award.

"Lexi" is a sophomore on the Women's Volleyball Team and she comes from Wibaux, Montana.  Lexi’s service to the community has been outstanding.  Last year as a freshman, she participated in many events that included taking photos for her local newspaper sports section, coaching a club volleyball team, helping run a kids fishing tournament, serving food at benefit dinners, helping with a cancer benefit, working with kids in a local school, and many other community service activities she did with her entire team.  She does all of this with a smile on her face because she loves to serve and help others.  At the same time, she is able to manage her time well enough to be successful in the classroom, earning a 4.0 gpa, and also excelling on the volleyball court where she was selected All-Conference and All-Region for the past two years.
